The roof-top restaurant that I visited in 2006 has gone - another floor of accommodation has replaced it. But this restaurant now operates a Nile-side restaurant as well as a small, air-conditioned, ground-floor restaurant. The food was good, allbeit the normal set menu (choice of main course) that is usual around here. They do not have an alcohol license, but will obtain a Stella if required. My main complaint was that the lighting on the Nile-side was insufficient, and I expect that this has already been improved. (2011)
In winter it can get cool fairly quickly as all tables are shaded in the afternoon. When the Nile is high it laps the terrace, but when it is low there are 20-30 metres of mudflat. Stella is now always available (LE15) and served in glasses from the freezer. Food looks good, although I have yet to eat there. (2013)
