Colossi of Memnon
These two large seated statues are free to view from the nearby car and coach park, which also features a mobile toilet block. really is not much to them, but ongoing excavations to the west are uncovering a lot more of the Mortuary Temple of Amenhotep III. They provide a photo opportunity which most tourists can not decline. I apologise for the underinspiring slide show, but I'm not inspired by this small open-air museum.
As the Mortuary Temple is an ongoing excavation site, unauthorised photography is of course forbidden, but an excellent view of the operation is available by the roadside heading towards the general ticket office.
