The rooftop terrace has covered and open seating for about 60.
The Moon Valley is a free-standing building on the south side of the road before one reaches the Collossi of Memnon. It occupies the first floor and roof above a papyrus 'factory'. The views from the roof, over the cultivation and with a backdrop of the Theban mountains, is spectacular. There is a large indoor restaurant on the first floor for those colder winter evenings. Each restaurant would easily seat a coachful of tourists, but as usual there were no coaches. The drivers only stop where they get the best commission.
The set menu (bread, salad, soup, tahini, fried aubergine, meat, vegetables and rice) appeared to be LE60, but I think that is the tourist price and covers the driver's commission. We paid LE30 because our driver never accepts commission! Stella was very cold, as it should be, and LE20. Soft drinks were LE10. Slightly pricy, but you pay for the location.
