Toutankhamen

I only visited this first floor rooftop restaurant once before the revolution (it was January 2010 iirc). It served only a fixed menu that night, but had Stella and a superb Nile View.

It was closed for some time after the revolution, but in March 2013 it is open and has a new, riverside terrace. It serves a full meal, with a choice of about 5 main courses, and has a selection of soft drinks but no alcohol.

I ate fried filets of Nile Perch as the main course, along with bread, mixed salad, Baba Gannouch, rice, cauliflower cheese, green beans, mixed vegetables, a fresh orange juice, a small bottle of water and a Bedouin coffee for LE65, and skipped the lentil soup that was also offered as part of the meal.

Reviewed in Rough Guide, 2010, p. 300.
